More on Global Warming

I just found an interesting article in the March 2008 issue of Physics Today. The article blames Solar Variability for 69 % of climate variability. What do you know, the SUN causes the earth to warm up or cool down. Find the article here  http://www.fel.duke.edu/~scafetta/pdf/opinion0308

Dean Says a Democrat Must Quit in June

AP

WASHINGTON (April 28) – Democratic Party Chairman Howard Dean said Monday that either Hillary Rodham Clinton or Barack Obama must drop out of the Democratic presidential race after the June primaries in order to unify the party by the convention and win the election in November.
But Dean didn’t say which candidate should drop out, only that it should happen after primary voters have been to the polls.

“We want the voters to have their say. That’s over on June 3,” Dean said in an interview on ABC’s “Good Morning America.”

Dean also said that while the party rules say Democratic superdelegates can wait until the party’s August 25 convention to make up their minds, that would be too late to unify the party and defeat the presumptive Republican nominee, John McCain.

“We really can’t have a divided convention. If we do it’s going to be very hard to heal the party afterwards,” Dean said. “So we’ll know who the nominee is and that’ll give us an extra 2 1/2 months to get our party together, heal the wounds of having a very closely divided race and take on Senator McCain.”

Dean said he won’t have to tell either Clinton or Obama when it’s time to leave the race.

“Either of these candidates, if it’s time for them to go, they’ll know it and they will go,” Dean said. “They don’t need any pushing from me. You know when to get in and you know when to get out. That’s just part of the deal.”

“This is not about Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama,” Dean added. “This is about our country. It’s about a better course for our country. … We’ve got to move on and win the presidency.”

Paul comments: Let the FUN begin. Neither of them will get out. This is great for the Republicans and great for the country. Rush said on his show today that he is setting up a fund to help Al Sharpton demonstrate at the convention. He is calling it the Fund for Justice, Equality, Respect and Kindness. FJERK. Oh yeah.

Carbon Credits

April 28, 2008 at 1:19 pm (Conservative, Enviroment, Politics, Uncategorized) (, )

Having lived in North Dakota I watched the carbon credit hype turn into a real money maker for farmers. Finally a way to make money without selling a real product. Farmers are going to plant regardless but now they can make the left feel good by selling them a non-product. Where is the real change in behavior. Land is finate and the same people who are purchasing these credits would be really upset if the farmer planted any more land. So regardless of how much they like the pulic educated public to believe they really are making a differance the truth is they are doing nothing but paying to make themselves feel better. Purchasing carbon credits does nothing to help the enviroment. In fact it may be hurting the enviroment. The more corn that is planted the more fuel used to move the tractors, the more oil products used for fertilizer, the more polution in the atmosphere from the machinery. Hey maybe the farmer naads to buy his own carbon credits.

Gun Control

April 27, 2008 at 5:35 pm (Conservative, Politics, Uncategorized)

FROM THE NRA

“The Philadelphia City Council passed five gun control measures, which were subsequently signed by Mayor Michael Nutter in direct violation of Pennsylvania’s state preemption law.

A Philadelphia County court granted NRA’s motion for a temporary restraining order against the new gun control regulations and ruled that Philadelphia is barred from enforcing the ordinances and moving forward on promulgating regulations. But the City opposed the injunction, saying they believed that the ordinances are both necessary and legal.

And while District Attorney Lynne Abraham previously advised Philadelphia’s city council and mayor that their gun control proposals were unconstitutional, the city pressed on, defying the state’s firearm preemption law in its attempt to circumvent the Pennsylvania legislature.

Enter Commissioner Ramsey, whose anti-gun leanings and arrogant, above-the-law mentalities have followed him to the City of Brotherly Love.

Not content with his city passing illegal gun control “laws,” Ramsey is actually encouraging the City Council and Mayor Nutter to ignore the legal advice of city attorneys against enforcing the ordinances.  Not only is he in favor of enforcing the illegal measures, he was recently quoted as saying, “As far as I am concerned, the laws are valid, and we will act as if this whole conversation with the D.A. just didn’t take place.”

When the City’s Police Commissioner–the top law enforcement official–encourages the mayor and council members to ignore legal advice, that’s not just blatantly arrogant and anti-gun, that’s outrageous”

Does this really surprise anyone. Why should the Liberals follow the law? After all the Constitution only matters if it agrees with them. Isn’t it a “Living” document. Words mean what they want them mean. Anyone want to say George Orwell? Folks the only real gun control is being able to hit what you aim at. If laws stopped crime their would be no murder. Then we would not need gun control laws. By definition criminals DO NOT obey the law. Hey, sounds like the Mayor, council and police comissioner of Philadelphia doesn’t it.

Random thoughts

NY officers NOT GUILTY

What would you do if someone tried to run you over with a car after hitting another? Police officer or not, one has a right to defend themselves. Of course this is far from over. Look for the feds to bring cival rights charges against at least the White Officer. How the courts can say this is not double jeopardy is beyond me, but they have. Of course the libs believe the Constitution says what they want it to say.

Support the troops

Isn’t it about time Congress starts to follow through with the talk? Why does the VA have to fight every year for adequate funding? It is way past time to move the VA Budget to the manditory side like Social Security and Welfare. Strange that these constitutionally questionable programs are manditory when providing for the Nations Defense in optional.

Bush Viloating the Constitution with war in Iraq

OK here is my challange to all the libs. Read the US Constitution and tell me what admendment the President is violating. Frankly, I am unable to find any. Let’s face it, Congress could cut funding and the war would end. Congress did give the President the authority. Even Hillary voted yes. The President was acting on intelligence that was available to Clinton and in fact Clinton had used in bombing the Aspirin factory to deflect attention from Monica.
